  1. Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.



1. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle with Rear Disc Brake)


2. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle with Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console upper panel.

  1. Separate the shifting hole cover.



3. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for CVT with Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Disengage the 8 claws and remove the console upper panel.



4. LOOSEN ADJUSTING NUT (for Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Loosen the lock nut and adjusting nu to completely release the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.

5. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


6. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Separate the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the rear disc brake cylinder operation lever.

  1. Insert an offset wrench (14 mm) at the base of the parking brake cable as shown in the illustration to disengage the clip. Pull out the parking brake cable from the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.

7. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.



8. REMOVE REAR DISC (for Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Place matchmarks on the disc and axle hub and remove the disc.

9. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM (for Rear Drum Brake)

  1. Release the parking brake and remove the rear brake drum.

    		Automatic Adjust Lever

    HINT:
    If the rear brake drum cannot be removed easily, perform the following procedure.


    1. Remove the shoe adjusting hole plug and insert a screwdriver through the hole into the backing plate, and hold the automatic adjust lever away from the adjuster.

    2. Using another screwdriver, contract the brake shoe by turning the adjusting bolt.



10. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the claw of the connector lock portion and disconnect the skid control sensor wire connector.



11. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.



12. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)
